T-22™ for wheat is a companion fungicide that works differently than traditional chemical fungicides to provide season long protection from disease. T-22™ contains a unique strain of the beneficial fungus Trichoderma harzianum Rifai that grows with the root system of wheat plants. T-22™ is an EPA registered certified organic bio-fungicide. T-22™ is a special hybrid strain developed by Dr. Gary Harman at Cornell in a university microbial breeding program. T-22™ is different from traditional fungicides in that it grows season long with the root system, providing protection from disease and nutrients that are mutually beneficial.
T-22™ for wheat boosts tillering in wheat crops to create more plants and a more robust root system to absorb and carry more nutrients to the plant. T-22™ protects roots from damage caused by the diseases Pythium, Rhizoctonia and Fusarium providing for stronger, healthier root systems. T-22™ treated root systems have greater soil exploration and moisture uptake capabilities causing the effects of adverse conditions to be less. T-22™ interacts with the Rhizosphere (the zone immediately around the root system). This interaction occurs next to the root hair and increases the available form of nutrients needed. T-22 also enhances nutrient efficiencies, allowing the grower to reduce input costs.
